Journey to Hradec Kralove & Prague

Since friday evening I'm back in Belgium.
I wished I could stay in the Czech Republic for a longer time. I had a very nice time there with my boyfriend and his friend(s) there. Frodo, if you read this I hope you can see I wrote I with a capital... especially for you... still don't like it very much though.

Travelling from Hradec to Prague takes quite a long time - about 2 hours - so my boyfriend and me decided to stay in Prague for a couple of days to have some time for ourselves.
We had a great time! These are some photos of Hradec Kralove and Prague.
I hope you'll like them!

Sidonie's Chad Wallet

When you have a 'large ad' on my blog. It's free to share one of your products with the world.
Sidonie Yang from Sidonie Yang | Handmade, would love to tell you more about the 'Chad' wallet!

This is my washable kraft paper men's wallet... it doesn't have a name, but I might it, "Chad" (I'll tell you why in just a bit).

I use, as with all my other creations, washable kraft paper to make it. I've come to realize that men are always on the quest to find a thin, yet sturdy wallet. In addition, my wallet is also made of a material that is luxurious in how it feels and looks, and exotic in what it's made from. The four men in the entire world who use my wallet so far... have pretty unique wallets!

The inspiration for my wallet is the person whom I have named it after - Chad! Chad is my husband's cousin. For Christmas, I gave him a keychain made of washable kraft paper, and he later asked me if I could make him a wallet out of the same material. I did, and it turned out really nicely... so I decided to also sell it on Etsy.

Men (or even women) can use my wallet, although it's usually men that prefer the size and look/feel.

My wallet costs $47 USD, and is available at my Etsy store: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89408018/mens-wallet-made-from-washable-kraft

My first journey to Hradec Kralove

You've probably read on this blog before (and if you haven't you will now) that my boyfriend stays in the Czech Republic for 3 months for his studies.

As I'm a student in tourism i couldn't let this chance go. I bought my tickets to fly there and stay with my love in the vacations. He's living in the city Hradec Kralové, close to Prague.
This afternoon I'm leaving Belgium. I've never been to the Czech Republic, so i'm very curious. We've planned many things to do together and i'm so looking forward to it! First i want to explore Hradec and after that i want to visit Prague. In the Eastern vacation we've planned to go to Auschwitz in Poland. There's a good connection between Poland and Prague with the train. I'll tell you more about that later, when that vacation is coming closer. Now i want to show you some lovely photos from Hradec Kralové.

More photos will come online when i've been there.
Have a nice day,
Eline S.

Wednesday inspiration board #14 ::: Valentine

Valentine's here again!
My boyfriend and me normally don't celebrate valentine. We don't like the idea that you just show your love on the 14th February, we prefer to show our love the whole year through. And i must say.. this works for already 7 years!
Most of the things that people make for valentine are so exagerrated, but these items are my top 5 from my treasury list with original valentine cards.

Leaf sculptures made from human hair

I was looking for some new inspiration and tutorials and found a unique serie of nature art made by Jenine Shereos that i would love to share with you. Jenine created leaves with human hair. Inspired by the delicate and detailed venation of a leaf, she began stitching individual strands of hair by hand into a water- soluble backing material. At each point where one strand of hair intersected another, she stitched a tiny knot, so that when the backing was dissolved, the entire piece was able to hold its form.

I love the way they look, how they taste and i love to make them!
I've made a treasury about macaroons a few weeks ago.
These are my favorites from the list, but the others are also very beautiful.

My creative life

I found this quote when i was reading the blog of 'Teapots and Chatter' and i really found myself in these letters. It's been a half year now that my Etsy shop is online and i'm happy things are going good this way. I was a bit scared because not many people in Belgium know Etsy. I love the way that i have the possibility to choose when i put things online, everything is very easy to use,... To be short: it doesn't give lots of stress.

Meet Sidonie Yang ::: interview

A few weeks ago I was looking for some new crafting materials, ideas,...
After searching a while, I found a material called 'washable kraft paper'.
This material is extremely durable and looks very nice.
It feels like paper, looks like leather and is as strong as plastic!
Sidonie loves to work with this material and would love to tell us more about herself and her shop in this interview.

What's your shop name? Where did it come from?
SIDONIEYANG | Handmade - it's basically just my name, also telling you what I do.

Song of the month #7 ::: Something Corporate - Heroine

A new month again and my new song of the month!
This night i brought my boyfriend to the airport, he's going to stay in the Czech Republic for 3 months. He's a student to be a teacher in arts and in that very cold land he's going to follow some special courses AND he promised me to learn some great local dishes. Yummie!

(2009)

When we were younger we loved to sing out loud the songs of Something Corporate.
I couldn't resist it to add two songs of them here in this blog post.

Meet the February Sponsors

Sidonie Yang Handmade is a shop that offers items in a lovely - for me unknown - material: washable kraft paper! As i learned to know Sidonie a bit better, i learned more about this material. It's actually paper, but it feels like leather and is as strong as plastic. In Sidonie Yang | Handmade you can find notebook covers, tablet sleeves, wallets, stationary and accessories. In a few days there'll come a give away (open for followers of this blog) with one item from her shop!
