Book #1 ::: The hunger games

Pinned Image
I like reading and now and then I will place  a short book review with my opinion of the book I've read. Today I'm going to finish 'The hunger games' by Suzanne Collins and I must admit that this book is a real pageturner. It took me about 3 days to read almost until the end of the book but I got behind because of studying for my exams and moving to my other house.

Somehow I think it's bad that i've seen the movie before reading the books.
Too bad I didn't discover this series earlier. The film made me think about the Capital in a whole other way. I think i wouldn't imagined them (The Capital people) the same way as they show them in the film.

The book was an easy and quick read, with many themes (love, poverty,...) and it had lots and lots of action which kept me reading. The constant suspense kept me turning page after page. Although I still think it's to sad she doesn't really love Gale. Oh but that's probably me because I don't really like Peeta. Don't ask me why... i'm still thinking about that..

To tell you something else.. did you see the lovely mockingbird pendant on the photo?
They are currently making a whole trend about it. You can buy it as necklace, as pendant,... it's almost everywhere.

Did you read/see the hunger games?
Are you planning to read the other 2 books?
I will! Tomorrow i'll start in the second book.

Have a nice day,
Eline S.

  3. I could not find it in my self to start this series. I don't know why, but after finishing Eragon and the Inheritance series.. I didn't want to read another series. But everyone keeps telling me it is good so I guess I might start reading it now.

    1. I also read the Inheritance series (the first 2 books) and i must say that 'The hunger games' series is totally different. But not bad :) It sometimes just misses a little bit of magic, which I love in books and tv shows.

  4. Everyone's reading this, I feel like I'm really missing out on something. On the other hand I don't really feel drawn to it either. Oh well, perhaps when I find the time over the summer;)

  5. Working in a bookstore, I finally gave in to all of the pressures of the book being pretty much everywhere. It took me two weeks to finish the whole series. I was hooked and I don't know if I want to ruin my love for the books by watching the movie. What if I'm disappointed with the movie?! Ack! :)

I am also really hooked to those books, i really cannot sleep without reading at least one page further!
I hope that they won't change the whole second book for the movie because i think it's great until now. x

  6. I decided to read the book before the movie came out- having heard so much about them and knowing I'd end up watching the film :P They really ARE pageturners, the whole series is SO good.
Hope you enjoyed it and decide to read the other two :)
